# Tables

Shape and sort tables without wrestling with Markdown. You get a small toolbar, column handles and a choice of styles.

## Try it

1. Run **Insert table** from the command palette and pick a size from the grid.
2. Click a cell to show the toolbar, then choose **Rows**, **Columns**, **Sort** or **Style**.

## Good to know

- In Live Preview, drag the right edge of a header cell to resize its column.
- Sorting understands numbers, dates and text.
- Choose **Use as default for new tables** to reuse a look you like.
- Your table stays plain Markdown.
