# Move text

Give a passage its own note, put it in an archive or send it somewhere else. Keep your notes small without losing what you wrote.

## Try it

1. Select a passage, or put the cursor in the section you want to move.
2. Right-click and choose **Extract to a sub-note**, **Archive this passage** or **Append to a note...**.

## Good to know

- Extract and Archive keep a link in the list at the top of your note.
- With Append, tick **Keep the text here** to copy the passage.
- Undo brings the text back; the destination keeps its copy.
