# Autoplans.dev for Obsidian β€” project & task management, two-way sync, MCP Manage software projects and tasks from your vault. Browse your [autoplans.dev](https://autoplans.dev) projects in a sidebar, **sync task lists into notes both ways**, see any project as a **visual task map**, turn notes into tracked tasks β€” and serve your vault to AI coding agents over **MCP (Model Context Protocol)**. Built for developers who plan in Markdown but track work in a real project system. ## Features ### πŸ“‹ Projects sidebar Every project with live task counts; expand to tasks with status and priority without opening the web app. ### πŸ”„ Two-way sync Pick projects in settings and their notes stay current on a timer β€” and your edits push back: **ticking a checkbox completes the task** on autoplans.dev, and a new `- [ ] Something` line under *Tasks* creates a real task, its id written back into the line. Task ids ride as block references, so the round trip survives edits. Works with the Tasks plugin and Dataview. ### πŸ—ΊοΈ Task map A project drawn as a graph β€” tasks as nodes, dependency arrows, subtask and comment counts. Click a node for its details and quick status buttons; the same map the Autoplans desktop app, web dashboard and VS Code extension render. ### πŸ€– MCP server for your vault *(desktop only)* Serve your notes to AI coding agents β€” Claude Code, the Autoplans desktop app, any MCP client. Eight tools: list, read, search, write and append notes, plus list projects, sync a project note, and push a note up as a task. Listens on `127.0.0.1` behind a generated token; **Copy config** puts a ready-made client entry on your clipboard. ### πŸ“ Notes β†’ tasks Push the current note to any project as a task: filename becomes the title, body the description. ### πŸ” Browser sign-in One click opens autoplans.dev, you approve, the key comes back through an `obsidian://` link and is verified before it is stored. No copy-pasting keys. ## Getting started 1. Install the plugin and enable it. 2. **Settings β†’ Autoplans.dev β†’ Sign in with browser.** 3. Open the panel from the ribbon (list-checks icon). 4. Tick projects under **Two-way sync** to keep them as living notes. ## Commands | Command | Does | |---|---| | Open projects panel | The sidebar | | Open task map | Pick a project, see the graph | | Sync projects now (both ways) | Force a round trip | | Sync a project into the vault | One project β†’ one note | | Push current note as a task | Note β†’ tracked task | | Sign in with browser | Connect your account | ## Part of Autoplans One account, one backlog, every surface: the [web dashboard](https://autoplans.dev), the [desktop coding agent](https://autoplans.dev/downloads), the [CLI](https://www.npmjs.com/package/autoplans-agent), the [VS Code extension](https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=AutoPlansDev.autoplans-vscode), and plugins for [Claude Code](https://autoplans.dev/docs/claude-code) and [OpenCode](https://www.npmjs.com/package/opencode-autoplans). πŸ“š [Documentation](https://autoplans.dev/docs) Β· πŸ”Œ [Obsidian guide](https://autoplans.dev/docs/obsidian) ## Privacy The plugin talks only to the endpoint you configure (autoplans.dev by default, self-hosting supported).
