# Insert Path for Agents

Insert the absolute filesystem path of the active note at the cursor. Use it in AI prompts so agents, LLMs, and subagents can open that Markdown file and read what you wrote verbatim.

The clipboard is not used. The path is typed into the note.

## Why

Prompt files live in a vault. When you hand a task to Grok, Claude, Cursor, Codex, or another agent, the model needs a real path, not a paraphrase. Bind a hotkey, press it in the prompt note, and the system path is in the text.

## Use

1. Enable the plugin.
2. Open **Settings → Hotkeys**.
3. Search for **Insert absolute path of current note**.
4. Bind a key.
5. In a prompt note, press that key.

You get a path like:

`/Users/you/vault/prompts/run.md`
