# Tasks Dashboard Enhancer Turn [Tasks](https://github.com/obsidian-tasks-group/obsidian-tasks) query results into an urgency-focused dashboard with summaries, quick filters, compact cards, collapsible details, rendered notes, and dependency links. ## Requirements - Obsidian 1.5.0 or newer. - The community plugin [Tasks](https://github.com/obsidian-tasks-group/obsidian-tasks) must be installed and enabled. - QuickAdd is optional. You can configure any command ID for the dashboard's create-task buttons. ## Features - Automatically regroup tasks into overdue, today, next seven days, later, unscheduled, and completed sections. - Show pending, overdue, today, and next-seven-days summaries. - Filter the dashboard without modifying task data. - Keep task cards compact while retaining dates and priority. - Expand child notes and navigate between dependency tasks. - Show how many days a task is overdue. - Provide responsive desktop and mobile layouts. - Avoid JavaScript expressions in Tasks queries. - Show followed iterations on the homepage when Project Manager Enhanced is available. - Link project items to tasks in a configured task data note, with optional title, due date, and completion syncing. - Create tasks without leaving the dashboard and edit task notes in place. ## Set up a task center Add these CSS classes to the note properties: ```yaml cssclasses: - tasks-dashboard - tasks-center ``` Use a regular Tasks status query. The enhancer performs urgency regrouping after Tasks renders the result: ````markdown ```tasks (not done) OR (done after 14 days ago) group by status sort by status sort by happens sort by priority ``` ```` ## Set up an inbox Add the `tasks-inbox` CSS class to an inbox note. A typical inbox query contains tasks without start, scheduled, or due dates: ````markdown ```tasks not done no start date no scheduled date no due date sort by created reverse ``` ```` ## Settings Open **Settings → Community plugins → Tasks Dashboard Enhancer** to configure: - Task center note path. - Task inbox note path. - Create-task command ID supplied by QuickAdd or another plugin. - Task data note path and project task linking options. All settings are optional. Navigation, creation, and project task linking only appear when their corresponding values are configured. ## Privacy and network access The plugin works locally inside the Obsidian vault. It does not make network requests, collect telemetry, access files outside the vault, or install dependencies at runtime. ## Manual installation Download `main.js`, `manifest.json`, and `styles.css` from the latest GitHub Release and place them in: ```text /.obsidian/plugins/tasks-dashboard-enhancer/ ``` Restart Obsidian, then enable **Tasks Dashboard Enhancer** under Community plugins. ## Development This repository maintains readable JavaScript source. It does not claim to restore a missing TypeScript history. ```bash npm run build npm run check ``` No network access or dependency installation is required for the production build. ## License [MIT](LICENSE)
