# Daily Notes Tweaks for Obsidian This plugin provides a command to open a random daily note and has an option to automatically switch past daily notes to reading mode. ## Features - **Open Random Daily Note**: Adds a command to open a random daily note from your vault. This is useful for reviewing past entries or rediscovering old ideas. - **Auto Reading Mode**: When you open a daily note that isn't for today, the plugin can automatically switch it to reading mode. Today's daily note will remain in your default editing mode. ## How to Install 1. Open **Settings** in Obsidian. 2. Go to **Community plugins** and make sure that «Restricted mode» is turned **off**. 3. Click **Browse** to open the community plugins store. 4. Search for «Daily Notes Tweaks». 5. Click **Install**, and then **Enable** once it has downloaded. ## How to Use The plugin adds one new command to the command palette: - **`Daily Notes Tweaks: Open random daily note`** For convenience, you can assign a hotkey to this command in Obsidian's «Hotkeys» settings. ### Settings You can configure the plugin under `Settings` → `Community Plugins` → `Daily Notes Tweaks`. - **Auto reading mode**: A toggle to enable or disable automatically switching past daily notes to reading mode on open.
